POWDER COATING = SUSTAINABILITY

Long service life in every application.

All our devices and machines are sandblasted after welding and powder-coated in a two-layer process. The layer thickness of the primer and top coat is 60-80 µm each. This creates a robust, weatherproof and at the same time smooth surface with a total layer thickness of 120-160 µm.

POWDER COATING VS. WET PAINTING

The first advantage of powder coating is its sustainability and environmental friendliness. The solvents contained in the wet paint
evaporate during curing. The substances contained in the vapours released are both harmful to human health and to the environment.
No solvents are required for powder coating. After sandblasting our appliances, the primer and top coat are baked and cured at approx. 180 – 200°C without the use of solvents.

Powder coating is also ahead in terms of resistance. As powder coating is more scratch and impact resistant than wet painting, the surfaces of the machines are significantly better protected against damage. The sandblasted surface with subsequent primer and top coat also has an increased layer thickness and therefore significantly better edge coverage. Compared to wet painting, this has a positive effect on corrosion protection, which significantly increases the service life of powder-coated appliances.

POWDER COATING VS. GALVANIZING

The major disadvantage of galvanised appliances is their sensitivity to acidic and alkaline substances. The further a material deviates from pH 7 (neutral), the more sensitive a galvanised appliance will react.

In agriculture, silage and manure, for example, have a pH value well below 7. The coating of galvanised equipment used for silage removal or manure removal is therefore quickly attacked by these acidic substances, resulting in rusty spots and increased wear after a short period of use.

Materials such as lime, cement or fertiliser generally have a pH value higher than 7. They are therefore alkaline and attack the galvanising in a similar way to silage or manure. This also quickly leads to rusty spots on the appliance, which result in higher and faster wear of the appliance.

Powder coating does not have these weaknesses, which is why our powder-coated appliances can be used in the above-entioned areas of application without any problems, are more versatile and have a much longer service life.
